In order to produce tomorrow’s efficient business leaders, it is becoming more and more important to teach young people about entrepreneurship. Educating the youth about entrepreneurship might aid them in developing an innovative mindset and learning a diverse range of skills such as a high level of professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit, independence and resilience, creativity and innovations, financial literacy, and good communication. Some trailblazing women in business, such as Sophia M. Barnett, have made it their life purpose to teach young people about entrepreneurship. Sophia is a multifaceted professional with a rich background in entrepreneurship, advocacy, and social responsibility.
Sophia’s outstanding entrepreneurial career sets her apart from other women in entrepreneurship. She successfully launched her own finance company, Wisdom Financial Management, Inc., in 2011, providing critical financial services and education to individuals and small businesses. She currently owns and operates several businesses: Wisdom Financial Management, Inc., Flowering Follicles LLC, all-natural hair, skin, and body oil, M.A.C.C. Burgers Co., and the Making a Child Change Foundation. She just received certification from the National Entrepreneurs Association as a National Entrepreneur.
“The M.A.C.C. Foundation’s mission is to empower marginalized youth by educating them with entrepreneurial skills, giving them employment opportunities, and helping them break free from the cycle of poverty. I firmly believe that financial literacy is the key to personal and professional success. Through financial literacy, we give marginalized youth the confidence and ability to take charge of their financial futures, breaking down barriers that stand in their way. In addition to our after-school programs and curriculum that keep kids on track and academically successful, our Entrepreneurship program provides essential business fundamentals, startup skills, and a supportive cohort to help fulfill dreams,” explained Sophia. The Middle/High School Curriculum, Job Placement, Junior High Summer Camp, After School Activities, and Econopreneur Program are some of the revolutionary projects carried out by the Making a Child Change Foundation.
Sophis is also a well-known author and public speaker, in addition to being a highly accomplished business leader and mentor. She is the author of “Wisdom’s Proverbs: Inspirational Poetry for Every Mood and Season,” a compelling collection that reflects her journey and insights. She also started a publishing company with her children, JBM Publishing Company that promotes self-publishing authors of all genres. As a seasoned speaker, she has participated in numerous panel discussions and live interviews, sharing her knowledge and inspiring others.
Since it is difficult to work in businesses where men predominate, almost all women want to be their own boss. Entrepreneurship and self employment provide women with a source of income, financial security, economic and financial autonomy, social empowerment, and self realization.
Having run multiple businesses and mentored and inspired many, Sophia has qualified herself as a model for the next generation of female entrepreneurs. As more and more women entrepreneurs, such as Sophia, achieve success, it will inspire young women to take risks and start their own businesses. Her business success strategies may help the next generation of female entrepreneurs succeed in their ventures.

Sophia’s accomplishments are just too numerous to list here. As a feminist writer who has profiled over 100 accomplished women, I believe Sophia’s tremendous contributions to entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and advocacy have made her one of the most inspirational women.
