Harare: While all eyes were on David Warner on the fourth day of the second season of Zim Afro T10, players like Najibullah Zadran, Dasan Shanaka, Shi Han Jayasuriya and Sikandar Raza took on the show at the Harare Sports Club. New York Lagos, Harare Bolts and Joe Berg Bangla Tigers occupy three positions on the points table. Batting first in the first match, New York Lagos lost the wicket of the dangerous Rassie van der Dusen early, after which Oshka Fernando (36) and Najeebullah Zadran (43) took charge. Zadran hit 4 sixes and a four in his innings of 33 runs, after which Ryan Brill (22) and Joshua Bishop (18) played a good role to take the score to 134 for 5 in 10 overs. Sharjeel Khan played a prominent role in the team’s victory by scoring 59 runs. However, the Lagos bowlers regularly took wickets and did not let the other batsmen go. Regus Chikabowa played an unbeaten 27 but it was not enough as NYS Lagos cruised to victory. In the next match, Bulawayo Brave Jaguars faced Harare Bolts in which Jaguar could only score 96 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 10 overs. Inamul Haq scored 22 runs and Nick Hobson scored 35 runs for Jaguars, while Shihan Jayasuriya and Richard Gleeson took 2 wickets each. Dinanjaya took 1 wicket but was unable to stop Dasan Shanaka who scored an unbeaten 47. He hit four consecutive sixes to lead his team to victory by 7 wickets. In the third and final match of the day, Cape Town Samp Army elected to bat first. Brian Bennett (11) and Rohan Mustafa (28) got off to a great start and the Joburg Bangla Tigers bowling took some big wickets. Sikandar Raza took 3 wickets for the loss of 9 wickets and Samp Army managed to score only 82 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Since then it was Sikandar Raza’s turn at Harare Sports Club, he scored an unbeaten 62 and single-handedly defeated the Tigers. His team won by 5 wickets with one over to play.
