Ramadan fasting, praying for a “multitude of blessings, peace, and tranquility” for all!
KARACHI ( ) Ambassador at Large for Global Peace, Human Rights & Interfaith Harmony Ambassador Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui, Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (#ICPH) and Co-Chair, International Religious Freedom Roundtable for Pakistan {#IRFPakistan ) his greetings and warmest wishes to Muslims in the world on the advent of the blessed holy month of Ramadan 1444H. As we prepare to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, it is important to ensure that we are spiritually and physically ready to receive the blessings of Allah (SWT). The month of Ramadan is a time of unique blessings and spiritual nourishment that can bring guidance, peace, and tranquility to Muslims, especially in these challenging times. He said that we remember that for millions of people, #RamadanKareem is being observed under conditions of conflict, war, displacement and oppression. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the peoples of Palestine.
In his message for Ramadan, Co-Chair, International Religious Freedom Roundtable for Pakistan Ambassador Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said Muslim fasting month is a special period of spiritual devotion, physical sacrifice and charitable outreach for Muslims. Ramadan is a special time of the year for Muslims throughout the world. It’s a time when Muslims around the world renew their commitment to lead lives of honesty, integrity, and compassion. Ramadan is a month when the values of moderation, #tolerance and togetherness find their true expression.
Further, the ICPH Chairman exhorted Muslim communities in the country to be renowned the world over for our religious tolerance. This is the most enduring trait of our people. We respect and revere the religious beliefs and practices of our compatriots. The advent of Ramadan gives them an appreciation of the freedom of religion, belief and opinion enshrined in Pakistan constitution and the richness of the country’s diversity. We take to heart the teachings of Islam in their lifestyle and dealings with #AbrahamicFaiths and non-Muslims, following Muslim scholars guidelines of welcoming and celebrating Ramadan in their homes. Ramadan, he underlined, should be a chance to inculcate a positive change in the lives of Muslims and non-Muslims alike. In today’s world these are qualities we need more than ever and I’m sure that, together, we can rely on these values to work towards better understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Ambassador Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui further stressed, May the message of Ramadan that preaches peace, tolerance and unity serve as an impetus for the international fellowship of nations to do all within their means to protect the most vulnerable and put an end to conflicts and wars everywhere. He prayed to Allah to shower His bounteous blessings on the wider Muslim community on this blessed month, Therefore, we must organize our time and strive to qualify ourselves in advance to obtain the blessings of each day and night of Ramadan.
