CANADA , December 31 — On New Year’s Eve, The His Eminence Ambassador at Large for Global Peace and Human Rights, Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, the Chairman Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) and the Co-Chair, International Religious Freedom Roundtable for Pakistan {IRF Roundtable Pakistan ) has extended warm greetings to all communities across Canada and beyond on the eve of the New Year 2026.
As we welcome 2026, Greetings to all! Year after year, life opens a fresh chapter. As the new year begins, I extend my best wishes to you from Canada! may it be a year of renewed hope, healing and strength. This past year has tested our resilience and reminded us of both the fragility and strength of the human spirit.
In his message, the His Eminence Ambassador Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui said, “On the joyous occasion of the New Year, I convey my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the people of Canada and around the world. The arrival of the New Year renews our hopes, strengthens our resolve and opens new avenues of opportunities for growth and progress.
As we leave behind another significant year and welcome a new one with brand new hopes and goals. The new year is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate our successes and set our intentions for the future. Taking this opportunity, together with all my colleagues, I sincerely wish for a happy and prosperous New Year for all glorious Canadian peoples and all nations around the world. I wish that the new year will lead to auspicious outcomes for all nations and the whole of humanity. This year is full of indelible memories. The killing of Humanity around the world at the moment has marred the joy of the New Year. Our hearts are saddened by the troubles of killing Humanity. At the end of the year, we will have the courage to ask ourselves how many human lives have been shattered by armed conflict. Humanity is strongest when we stand together. We preserve our hope for a better, more peaceful and more prosperous future for the whole of humanity. There is hope and much to be done as we begin the eve of 2026 and in the light of the joint efforts of world leaders, we will see immediate action by the international community to stop these killings to eradicate oppression and hegemony and to establish lasting peace and security around the world.
I join with the His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in calling for an “unarmed and disarming” peace this New Year 2026. I echo with deep conviction that peace is not achieved by force or fear, but by a disarmed heart and a disarming way of life. True peace begins within us, rejects violence and domination, and grows through humility, dialogue, mercy, and trust. The world needs the peace of the “unarmed and disarming” Emmanuel in the manger, which gives joy and hope to all. Our world needs it even more. Like most of you, I often feel the scourge of a people who have been wanting peace and progress, but to no avail. We can’t seem to get our act together. We often fail miserably. Another year is upon us. What is in store for us? The cynical among us would give up and abandon the struggle. But we are a people of hope. We believe in God who walks with us and remains faithful to us. We joined hands to build a better life and enjoyed it together.
In 2026, Religious Freedom Is a fundamental human right, joy and peace, giving everyone around us the space to fulfill their lives in this world. Let individuals of Abrahamic religions, other religious followers, religious communities in the world with different cultural backgrounds, and give everyone around us the space and experience of freedom of religion or beliefs, embracing peaceful coexistence, friendship, and conscience. The world today is undergoing both changes and turbulence, and some regions are still engulfed in war. The Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) , the International Religious Freedom Roundtable for Pakistan (IRF Pakistan) and the Albaraka Welfare Trust International (ABWTI) always stands on the right side of history, and is ready to work with all countries to advance world peace and development and build a community with a shared future for humanity. All of which are fully aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We strive to make life better and more bearable for those among us who fear or are in desperate straits.
We thank you to Government of Canada, all provincial governments, stakeholders, inter-governmental agencies, UN agencies, Law enforcement agencies, civil society groups, different sects, bodies, civil society organizations, academia and religious bodies organizations for your valued partnership in our joint efforts for peace, civilization, security, human rights, inter-religious, multicultural dialogue, spiritual values, cultural exchange, social spheres, diversity, discrimination, violence against women, girls, domestic abuse, harassment and children’s rights, institutional development, empower a society, reforms in the society as well as you, dialogues, education, health, media, religious freedom, religious tourism, arts and cultural heritage, technology, research, advocacy, discrimination or racism, community empowerment, minority rights, gender equality, social justice, democracy, governance, advocacy, capacity building, conflict analysis, prevention, environment, social stability, prosperity, peaceful coexistence and sustainable development by preventing sectarian conflict, religious extremism, drugs, corruption, crimes, sectarian violence, religion conflict, violence extremism, prejudice intolerance and terrorism in the hole world. Through our work and volunteerism, we don’t just give; we provide hope, a firm reason to continue, to face the challenges of life, and to create new chapters and choices in both their lives and ours.
Let us move forward with a collective commitment to build a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous world , rooted in harmony, resilience and sustainable development. Let’s continue to stand together for human rights and freedom of belief and build bridges of understanding and dialogue among all people according to their religions, nationalities, ethnicities, and continue to stand together for human rights and freedom. Let us respect every religion and accept each other with all our differences. Let’s build a better future for everyone.
Let’s strive for a world where kindness reigns, compassion thrives, and love knows no boundaries. May our collective efforts sow the seeds of harmony for generations to come. May this New Year bring about global renewal and foster peace worldwide. Everyone to pray and work harder for the well-being and prosperity of the country. Let us welcome the coming year with the hope and determination to build a world where there are no conflicts and wars. Let us continue to pray for peace and justice, for truth and accountability, for the conversion of hearts and restoration of conscience in our society.
With these feelings, despite hardship and injustice, especially felt by our brothers and sisters in the Middle East, all communities have stood firm, united by faith, compassion and a shared commitment to justice and dignity. On behalf of my family, the ICPH, IRF Pakistan and Albaraka Trust International, I once again wish that the new year will lead to auspicious outcomes for each and every individual of all nations and humanity.
